A recent study found that laughter can trigger similar responses from the body as physical exercise - an increase in endorphins and decreased levels of the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline. Not feeling very funny? Just fake it. The same physiological changes that occur with real laughter also take effect when you only pretend to laugh.
